A sword-wielding attacker went on a rampage on the streets of London, leaving at least five people injured, including two police officers. The incident occurred in east London on Tuesday morning when the attacker crashed his van into a house and began stabbing people seemingly at random.
Police responded to reports of the man crashing his vehicle into a house in Thurlow Gardens just before 7 a.m. and stabbing multiple people, including the two police officers. A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan stated that there is no ongoing threat to the wider community and they are not looking for more suspects. The incident does not appear to be terror-related.
Witnesses described the horrifying scene of a man running around with a samurai sword, stabbing four people after crashing his van into a house. The conditions of those hospitalized have not been shared by the police.
