Atlanta comes from behind to beat Dallas 83-78 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Atlanta Dream pulled off a thrilling comeback victory in their home opener against the Dallas Wings, winning 83-78 in a nail-biting finish. Allisha Gray led the Dream with 21 points, supported by strong performances from Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, Rhyne Howard, Tina Charles, and Aerial Powers, who all scored in double figures.

Trailing by eight points at halftime, the Dream turned the game around in the second half, taking the lead in the fourth quarter with a layup from Naz Hillmon. Aerial Powers extended the lead with a clutch shot, and the team maintained their advantage through the final minutes of the game.

Dallas put up a tough fight, with Teaira McCowan and Monique Billings both recording double-doubles in points and rebounds. Arike Ogunbowale, the WNBA’s leading scorer, contributed 24 points for the Wings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Dream’s strong second-half performance.

The victory was especially sweet for Atlanta, as they had lost their last six games against Dallas. The Wings, missing key players Natasha Howard and Satou Sabally, struggled to contain the Dream’s offensive firepower in the closing minutes of the game.

The thrilling matchup kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer, showcasing the competitive spirit and talent of both teams. The Dream’s resilience and determination to secure the win in their home opener set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
