Eaglecrest Sophomore Natali Marshall Qualifies for State Tennis Tournament

Eaglecrest sophomore Natali Marshall has secured a coveted spot in the Class 5A girls tennis individual state tournament after an impressive performance at the Region 1 final at Cherry Creek High School. Despite losing to Cherry Creek senior Anika Sharma, last season’s 5A state champion, Marshall’s semifinal win was enough to secure her place in the state tournament.

Marshall expressed her excitement at achieving her goal of making it to the state tournament after falling short last year. She sees the upcoming tournament as a learning experience and a chance to showcase her skills on the big stage.

With 16 wins under her belt, Marshall is ranked fourth in 5A and will be heading into the state tournament with confidence. Her coach, Dave Palmer, praised her problem-solving abilities on the court and her determination to figure things out, making her a formidable opponent.

Marshall’s qualification marks a significant achievement for Eaglecrest, as she is the first state-bound singles player for the Raptors since 2014. Additionally, the Grandview No. 3 doubles team of Maddie Mayer and Quincy Muntean will also be competing at the state tournament after securing their first state berth.

The upcoming tournament promises to be an exciting event, with Regis Jesuit sending its entire team to compete. With a strong lineup of experienced players, including several returning state qualifiers, the Raiders are poised to make a mark at the tournament.

As Marshall and her fellow competitors gear up for the state tournament at Denver’s City Park, tennis fans can expect thrilling matches and fierce competition on the courts. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting event.
