Avicii’s Former Girlfriend Emily Goldberg Dies from Pulmonary Embolism at Age 34

Emily Goldberg, the ex-girlfriend of the late DJ Avicii, has tragically passed away at the age of 34. The news of her passing comes almost a year after she announced that she was “cancer-free.” Goldberg died on April 3 in La Jolla, California, due to a pulmonary embolism, according to an obituary.

In late May 2023, Goldberg shared on Instagram that she had been battling cancer for a year. Her post featured a Snapchat photo of herself in a hospital bed with the words, “I lived bitch.” She captioned the post, “I’ve had cancer for the past year. I’m now cancer-free,” along with emojis symbolizing healthcare and gratitude.

Goldberg’s passing comes nearly six years after Avicii’s tragic death by suicide in April 2018. The pair reportedly dated for two years before the Swedish DJ’s passing. Following Avicii’s death, Goldberg shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, expressing her love and grief for him.

Goldberg is survived by her parents, Julie and Sam Goldberg, and her brother, Aaron. The obituary did not mention her battle with cancer. Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on April 20, 2018. His death was later ruled a suicide.

The news of Goldberg’s passing has left fans and the music industry mourning the loss of another talented individual. The post on her Instagram account remains active, serving as a reminder of her life and the impact she had on those around her.
