Bark River-Harris Baseball Dominates Stephenson in Doubleheader Sweep
Despite the rainy and overcast conditions, the Bark River-Harris baseball team shined as they secured two impressive victories over Stephenson on Thursday. The Broncos showcased their dominance with a 12-2 win in the first game and a 10-0 shutout in the second game.
Head coach Al Botwright was pleased with the team’s performance, especially after a tough outing against Escanaba’s JV team earlier in the week. “To give up 23 runs in one game and then bounce back to only allow two runs in two games today was a great start for the team,” Botwright commented.
The Broncos wasted no time taking control of the games, with early offensive firepower from players like Charlie Guenette, Troy Johnson, and Ethan Ives. Pitcher Hall delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing only two runs on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks in the first game.
In the second game, the Broncos continued their strong showing with impressive hitting and pitching. Ives, Dominick Lantagne, and Kaleb Desloits were among the standout performers, contributing to the team’s commanding 6-0 lead after the second inning.
Pitchers Jared Reynolds and Gabe Spear sealed the deal in the second game, combining for a no-hitter against Stephenson. The Broncos’ stellar performance on both offense and defense highlighted their potential for a successful season ahead.
