After years of being shielded from the public eye, Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald J. Trump, is stepping into the political spotlight as one of Florida’s delegates to the Republican National Convention. At just 18 years old, Barron will join his more politically active brothers, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., as well as his sister Tiffany, in representing the state at the convention in July.
While Barron has largely stayed out of his father’s campaign activities in the past, his selection as a delegate signals a new chapter in his involvement in the political arena. It remains to be seen whether he will follow in his siblings’ footsteps and deliver a speech at the convention, as they did in previous years.
Barron’s graduation from high school this month has also drawn attention, as it coincides with his father’s hush-money trial in Manhattan. The judge initially faced criticism for potentially scheduling court on the same day as Barron’s graduation, but ultimately agreed to allow the day off.
The inclusion of Barron and other Trump family members in the Florida delegation highlights the family’s continued influence in Republican politics. With Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife, serving as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and other close allies of the former president also chosen as delegates, it is clear that the Trump family remains a central force within the party.
