The 13th annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week (BREW) kicked off with a bang, bringing together local entrepreneurs at Mid City Tower in Baton Rouge. Hosted by Nexus Louisiana, the event aims to provide tools and resources for business development.

Local entrepreneur Kayonca Riggs expressed her excitement for the event, highlighting the opportunity to enhance her business pitch and attract potential investors. With a lineup of special guests, including the founder of Shazam, attendees can expect valuable insights on taking their businesses to the next level.

One of the most anticipated aspects of BREW is the high stakes pitch competition, where one lucky winner will secure a $100,000 investment prize. The winner will then have the chance to compete in the startup World Cup for a $1 million investment, facing off against entrepreneurs from around the globe.

Na’Tisha Natt, director of community engagement at Nexus Louisiana, emphasized the sense of community and support that attendees can expect to find at the event. With registration still open, Natt encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to join and take advantage of the unique opportunities available.

For those interested in attending, the schedule of sessions and speakers can be found on the event’s website. As BREW continues to unfold, participants can look forward to a week filled with networking, learning, and the chance to elevate their businesses to new heights.
