Bay signs Howes and Farnes for cross country team

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Gladstone High School seniors Tanner Howes and Kayla Farnes made a big splash on Tuesday as they signed their letters of intent to run cross country at Bay College. The duo, both standout runners for the Gladstone Braves, are excited to continue their athletic and academic careers close to home.

For Farnes, the decision to choose Bay College was an easy one. She wanted to stay close to her family and friends while also saving money on tuition. Farnes, who has battled injuries throughout her high school career, plans to study pre-physical therapy with hopes of eventually working in physical therapy or sports medicine.

On the other hand, Howes had a stellar senior season, finishing in the top 20 of every event he ran and earning multiple top-10 finishes. His success on the track and cross country course solidified his decision to continue running at the collegiate level. Howes plans to study business at Bay College while continuing to pursue his passion for running.

Both athletes expressed gratitude for the support they have received from their coaches, teammates, and families throughout their high school careers. They are looking forward to the next chapter in their athletic journeys and are excited to represent Bay College on the cross country course.

The signing ceremony was a special moment for both Howes and Farnes, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to their sport. They are eager to take the next step in their athletic and academic pursuits and make their mark at the collegiate level. Congratulations to Tanner Howes and Kayla Farnes on this exciting opportunity!
