Beautiful People Adaptive Sports, a nonprofit organization in Orange County, has received a $50,000 grant from the Orange County Youth Bureau to expand its programs in Newburgh and New Windsor. The grant, funded by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, will focus on volleyball and baseball programs set to launch in Spring 2024.
Beautiful People Adaptive Sports currently serves hundreds of families in Orange County, offering inclusive team sports and social engagement for children and young adults with disabilities. The organization aims to promote a sense of belonging, confidence, and teamwork among participants while emphasizing physical health and well-being.
Jeremy Zweig, President of the Beautiful People Board of Directors, highlighted the organization’s successful expansion in recent years and thanked the Youth Bureau and Orange County leadership for their support. The grant will support infrastructure improvements, scholarship reimbursements, team uniforms, and adaptive sports equipment to serve more athletes.
