Beloved KTLA and Hollywood Uncensored host tragically dies after being rushed to hospital in LA

Veteran KTLA reporter Sam Rubin, the beloved host of Hollywood Uncensored, has tragically passed away at the age of 64. Rubin, who had been with KTLA since 1991, covering entertainment, movies, and TV, suffered a heart attack at home after his regular Hollywood news segment. Despite being rushed to UCLA West Hills, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Rubin’s sudden death has left his heartbroken KTLA coworkers mourning his loss. His colleagues made teary-eyed tributes on-air, with longtime morning anchor Frank Buckley expressing shock over the sudden passing. Eric Spillman added, “I can’t believe we are reporting this – it is such a shock.”

The veteran reporter is survived by his wife Leslie and four children. Rubin’s production company, SRE, Inc., produced over 200 hours of programming for broadcast and cable channels, including Live From red carpet shows. He was also a founding member of the Broadcast Film Critics’ Association.

Rubin’s passing has deeply impacted the entertainment industry, with many expressing their sadness and paying tribute to his legacy. Actor Jerry O’Connell called Rubin a “LEGEND” and CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister shared her memories of growing up watching him on TV.

Rubin’s contributions were recognized with multiple awards, including Emmys, a Golden Mic Award, and a lifetime achievement award. He will be remembered for his warmth, charm, and dedication to his craft.
