On the international front, President Biden discussed the ongoing conflict in Gaza and his efforts to broker a cease-fire. Despite recent violence, including an Israeli airstrike on a U.N. school complex, President Biden expressed confidence that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was still open to dialogue. He reiterated his support for a proposal that could lead to a permanent cessation of hostilities, although both Israel and Hamas have yet to fully commit to the plan.
