Joe Biden and Donald Trump both took to social media on Easter Sunday to share their holiday greetings, but their messages couldn’t have been more different.
In a simple and heartfelt post, Mr. Biden wished a happy Easter to all those celebrating around the world, asking for God’s blessings to be upon them. On the other hand, Mr. Trump’s message, posted on his Truth Social platform, included a sharp attack on those he believes are trying to undermine him.
In a lengthy and all-capitalized post, the former president lashed out at DOJ special counsel Jack Smith and Georgia attorney Fani Willis, accusing them of trying to interfere with the 2024 presidential election and put him in prison. He also expressed his disdain for those he believes are working to destroy America.
The stark contrast in their messages comes as Republicans, led by Mr. Trump, criticized Mr. Biden for recognizing Trans Visibility Day on Easter Sunday. The day, created by transgender activist Rachel Crandall, coincided with Easter in 2024.
While Mr. Biden celebrated the courage and strength of transgender and nonbinary Americans in his statement marking Trans Visibility Day, Mr. Trump’s Easter message was overshadowed by his attacks on his perceived enemies.
The differing tones of their messages highlight the deep divide in American politics and the stark contrast in leadership styles between the two men. As the country looks ahead to the 2024 election, these messages may offer a glimpse into the political landscape to come.
