Biden campaign ridicules Trump for stumbling over words while reading from notes outside hush money trial

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Biden campaign took a jab at former President Donald Trump’s speech delivery outside his New York hush money trial, mocking his use of an “emotional support paper” and mumbling during his address. Trump, who is facing allegations of concealing hush money payments during the 2016 campaign, stumbled through his speech while reading from a packet of papers containing favorable press clips.

Biden-Harris HQ, the rapid response wing of the Biden campaign, shared a clip of Trump’s speech on social media, describing him as “doddering” and struggling to read off his notes. This comes as both candidates face criticisms about their age and communication abilities leading up to the election.

Trump, known for his attacks on Biden’s mental acuity, has been dubbed “Sleepy Joe” in the past and has mocked the president’s stutter during recent campaign events. Meanwhile, Biden, the oldest person to ever occupy the White House, has faced scrutiny over his age and health as well.

As the hush money trial nears its conclusion, with closing arguments wrapping up and jury deliberations expected to begin soon, the stakes are high for Trump. If convicted, he could face up to four years in prison for each of the 34 felony counts against him.

In the world of Biden’s campaign, there is reportedly a sense of panic over polling data showing Trump leading in key swing states. With the election on the horizon, both candidates are facing intense scrutiny and pressure as they vie for the presidency.
