Reading Time: < 1 minute

President Biden is currently in France, where he met with the president of Ukraine to discuss new aid and deliver a powerful message about the future of democracy and America’s role in protecting it. In the wake of the D-Day anniversary, President Biden is emphasizing that the world is facing similar threats to democracy, and he believes that America has a responsibility to address these challenges.

During a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, President Biden made a promise and issued an apology, stating, “I’m not going to walk away from you. I apologize for the weeks of uncertainty regarding funding.” Despite the delay in U.S. aid for Ukraine, President Biden reassured that the U.S. will continue its support and announced a new $225 million aid package for the country, including rocket systems and artillery.

Recently, the U.S. granted Ukraine permission to use the weapons provided by America for limited attacks inside Russia, with the hope of aiding Ukraine in their fight. President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the U.S. and emphasized the importance of standing together.

Later in the day, President Biden delivered a speech at Pointe du Hoc, reflecting on the heroism of the soldiers who scaled cliffs during D-Day 80 years ago. He highlighted the importance of staying true to American values and protecting freedom and democracy both at home and abroad.

As the presidential election approaches, President Biden is working to differentiate his foreign policy plans from those of former President Trump, emphasizing the importance of defending democracy and standing up against aggression.
