STEUBENVILLE — The Big Red track and field team continued their winning streak on Monday at the Jefferson County Relays at Harding Stadium. After dominating the Bellaire Relays just two days prior, both the boys and girls teams from Steubenville swept the team and individual high point scores.

The boys team amassed an impressive 180 points, outscoring Edison with 132 points and Catholic Central with 59 points. Big Red’s Josiah Rea led the pack, earning the high-point title along with his teammates who secured the top four individual spots.

On the girls side, Big Red also dominated with 155 points, leaving Catholic Central and Edison trailing behind with 84 and 76 points, respectively. Sabria Jones clinched the high-point title, narrowly beating out her competitors.

In the individual events, standout performances included Buckeye Local’s Brynn McKeever winning the 200 dash, Central’s Kathryn Bolster taking the 400, and Toronto’s Josey Dickinson triumphing in the 800. Big Red’s Owen O’Brien showcased his talent by winning both the 1600 and 3200 races.

Overall, it was a successful day for the Big Red track and field team as they showcased their strength and depth in various events. With their eyes set on future competitions, Steubenville’s athletes are proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the track and field arena.
