U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared on Wednesday that the delivery of American weapons to Ukraine is playing a crucial role in stabilizing the frontline of the battlefield. Speaking at a press conference in Chisinau, Moldova, Blinken emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine in its conflict against Russian aggression.

Blinken’s visit to Chisinau marks the beginning of a European tour aimed at bolstering Western support for Ukraine among NATO allies and neighboring countries. The top U.S. diplomat highlighted the significance of providing air defenses to Ukraine, sending a clear message to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Ukraine will not be outlasted.

Despite Russian warnings of a global conflict if Ukraine uses Western weapons to strike inside Russia, Blinken emphasized the positive impact of the $61 billion U.S. weapons package for Ukraine. He noted that the arms are now making their way onto the battlefield and making a tangible difference in stabilizing the front.

During the press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Blinken commended Moldova’s resilience in the face of Russian interference, disinformation campaigns, and corruption. He announced plans for the Biden administration to provide an additional $50 million to Moldova to support efforts to resist Russian interference and promote reforms in key sectors.

Overall, Blinken’s visit to Chisinau underscores the United States’ commitment to supporting Ukraine and its allies in the region against Russian aggression.
