This news comes as a disappointment to fans who were eagerly anticipating the annual fan convention, which has been a staple in the gaming community for years.
The company cited “careful consideration over the last year” as the reason for the cancellation, stating that they are looking to approach this year differently. Instead of hosting one big event, Blizzard will spread out their announcements at events like Gamescom. This decision marks the second consecutive year that BlizzCon has been cancelled, following the cancellation of the 2022 event.
Despite the cancellation, Blizzard assured fans that BlizzCon will return in future years.
