Marshalltown High School Baseball Team Looks to Rebuild Tradition
The Marshalltown High School baseball team is gearing up for a new season with hopes of rebuilding its proud tradition. Despite facing challenges with a small roster of just 20 players from grades 12-8, the Bobcats are ready to hit the field under the guidance of first-year head coach Colton Hanke.
Hanke, a former all-conference pitcher and MHS graduate, is focused on instilling a sense of consistency and teamwork in his players. With a core group of experienced upperclassmen leading the way, including seniors Caleb Kusserow and Dale Greene, the team is determined to turn things around.
The Bobcats are coming off a six-win season, but with Hanke’s leadership and the dedication of the players, they are aiming for a more successful campaign. Hanke emphasized the importance of mental toughness and a competitive spirit, urging his players to give their best effort on the field.
Despite the challenges of a small roster and limited experience, the Bobcats are approaching the season with optimism and determination. Hanke believes that by focusing on the present and working together as a team, they can set the foundation for future success.
As the Bobcats prepare to kick off their season, all eyes will be on this resilient team as they strive to bring back the winning tradition of Marshalltown High School baseball.
