Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a thrilling MAAC title matchup, the No. 2 Quinnipiac Women’s Tennis team faced off against top-seeded Fairfield at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor Township, NJ. The Bobcats started strong by taking the doubles point, setting the stage for an intense battle in singles play.

Caitlin Flower and Dominique Yeo delivered impressive performances, each securing a singles win for Quinnipiac. However, Fairfield’s Sarah Liu proved to be a formidable opponent, ultimately defeating Anagha Shankar in a closely contested match that ended 6-4 in the third set. Liu’s victory clinched the championship for the Stags, leaving the Bobcats with a final score of 4-3.

Despite the tough loss, Quinnipiac had standout performances from Flower and Yeo. Flower, playing from the No. 4 singles position, remained unbeaten in MAAC play during the spring season and won both of her singles matchups over the weekend. Yeo, competing in the No. 5 spot, went 2-0 in the MAAC Tournament and finished with a 6-1 record in MAAC singles action this spring.

With a history of success in the NCAA Tournament, having advanced seven times since joining the league, Quinnipiac remains a formidable force in women’s tennis.
