Boike climbs leaderboard for third medal of the year | News, Sports, Jobs

Brayson Boike of Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd High School showcased his exceptional athleticism at the Class A state meet, adding more medals to his collection. Following his state triple jump title win, Boike secured a bronze in the long jump with a distance of 21-11.25, and an eighth-place finish in the high jump with a height of 6-02.

Teammate James Weber also had a successful day, claiming fourth place in the 300-meter hurdles and seventh place in the 110-meter hurdles. Hayley Anderson represented LQPV/DB in the shot put, finishing 14th with a distance of 34-08.75.

Canby/Minneota’s Braelyn Merritt stood out in the girls’ events, earning a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters and contributing to the team’s fifth-place finish in the 4×800-meter relay. The relay team, which included Rachel Jelen, Mya Pesek, and Claire Stoks, showed great teamwork and determination.

Terrek Jenniges of Lakeview impressed in the wheelchair events, finishing as the runner-up in the boys 100 meters and 200 meters, as well as competing in the discus throw. Cade Swenhaugen of TMB also made his mark, earning an eighth-place medal in the boys 300-meter hurdles.

Overall, the athletes from various schools displayed incredible talent and sportsmanship at the state meet, showcasing the depth of talent in Minnesota high school track and field.
