Boosting science and technology in Xujing Town

Xujing Town in Qingpu District is taking a significant step towards enhancing its mobilization capability on social resources for sustainable procurement. In collaboration with the United Nations and international organizations, the town recently hosted a seminar on the empowerment of science and technology for the sustainable development of humanitarianism.

The launch of the “Knowledge Sharing, Capacity Building and Supporting Service Program on Sustainable Procurement of UN/International Organizations” in Xujing aims to provide a platform for Chinese businesses to participate in the international public procurement market. This initiative is set to create a conducive environment for international public procurement and the sustainable development of humanitarian causes.

Chen Yu, deputy Party secretary and governor of Xujing, emphasized the importance of fully utilizing the program, mobilizing suppliers, and fostering cooperation to advance humanitarian causes. Deng Yan, head of the foreign aid material supply station of the Red Cross Society of China, highlighted the critical role of scientific and technological innovation in addressing international humanitarian crises.

Chinese companies like COSCO Shipping Lines Co Ltd and LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd showcased their innovative products and solutions during the event. From hemostatic products to global shipping solutions, these companies demonstrated their competitiveness in international public procurement.
