Auburn Tennis Star Carolyn Ansari Reflects on Her Journey to Success
Carolyn Ansari, a fifth-year senior at Auburn University, has made a name for herself as one of the most accomplished women’s tennis players in program history. But her journey to success began long before she arrived on The Plains in 2019.
Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, Ansari was born into a family with a deep love for tennis. With all six of her siblings also playing the sport, she was immersed in the game from a young age. Her brother, Austin, served as a role model for her, teaching her the value of hard work and determination.
During her time at Auburn, Ansari has earned numerous accolades, including being named to the SEC All-Newcomer team and first-team All-SEC honors for three consecutive seasons. In 2023, she had a breakout season, earning the ITA Southern Region’s Senior Player of the Year award.
One of Ansari’s most memorable moments on the court came during a match against Arizona State in 2022, where the Tigers overcame a 2-0 deficit to secure a victory. Off the court, Ansari fondly remembers attending her first Iron Bowl in 2019 and experiencing the excitement of a packed stadium.
As Ansari looks towards the future, her goal is to play professional tennis while also pursuing a degree in physical activity and health. She credits Auburn for providing her with the resources and support to succeed both athletically and academically.
Despite her plans for the future, Ansari will always cherish her time at Auburn and the memories she has made both on and off the court. With a bright future ahead, Ansari’s journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring tennis players everywhere.
