Boston Wins Game 1 of the NBA Finals – WSJM Morning Sports

The Boston Celtics dominated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, winning 107-89. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 22 points, while Kristaps Porzingis made a strong return with 20 points after being sidelined for over a month. The Celtics had a powerful start, leading by 29 points in the first half and connecting on 16 3-pointers. Porzingis, coming off the bench, provided an immediate spark with six rebounds and three blocks in just 21 minutes of play. The Celtics had six players finish in double figures, showcasing their depth and strength as they aim for their 18th NBA title. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday.

In other sports news, the Chicago White Sox suffered their 14th straight loss as the Boston Red Sox handed them a 14-2 defeat. Jarren Duran and Enmanuel Valdez homered for the Red Sox, while Tanner Houck pitched seven solid innings. The White Sox’s losing streak now stands at a franchise-record 14 games.

In the WNBA, the Chicago Sky defeated the Washington Mystics 79-71, with Chennedy Carter and rookie Angel Reese leading the way. The Mystics have now lost 10 straight games, tying for the fourth-longest losing streak to start a season in WNBA history.
