The Minnewaska Area boys tennis team is making waves this season with their outstanding performance on the court. With a record of 17-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the WCC, the Lakers are proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
In their recent match against Detroit Lakes, the Lakers swept the competition, winning all seven matches. Standout performances included Connor Quelle’s dominant win at first singles, Tenzin Dahl’s impressive victory at second singles, and Carson Beyer’s commanding performance at fourth singles.
The team also excelled in doubles play, with Drew Bleick and Carter LeClair securing a hard-fought win at first doubles, Marshall Kopp and Landon Schiffler triumphing at second doubles, and Tyler Kohn and Xavier Johnson sealing the deal at third doubles.
Earlier in the season, the Lakers faced off against Alexandria in a tough match, where they fell for only the second time this spring. Despite the loss, Bleick and LeClair managed to secure the only point for the Lakers with a thrilling win at first doubles.
Looking ahead, the Lakers are gearing up for the Section 8A Boys Tennis Tournament at Osakis, where they hope to make a strong showing. Last year, the Lakers fell in the first round of the team tournament but are determined to come back stronger this year.
With their impressive record and skilled players, the Minnewaska Area boys tennis team is poised for success as they continue to dominate the competition.
