Brainerd Dispatch: Softball team’s bats stay hot

The Brainerd Warriors dominated the Alexandria Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference showdown on Tuesday, April 23, with a final score of 15-3. Ruthie Owen led the charge for the Warriors, going 2-5 with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs. Mya Tautges also had an impressive performance, going 4-5 with two triples, three RBIs, and two runs. Elsa Borchert contributed to the win with a 2-6 performance, including a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored.

Brainerd’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with Emily Rademacher going 2-4 with two RBIs and a run. The team’s stellar performance improved their conference record to 4-0 and their overall record to 8-0.

On the pitching front, Mya Tautges started in the circle and struck out three over four innings, allowing just one hit and one walk. Joze Tautges came in for relief, pitching three innings and allowing three runs on seven hits. She also struck out three batters.
