The Cleveland Cavaliers are facing a crucial offseason with tough decisions to make, both in the front office and with the roster. After a disappointing playoff exit at the hands of the Boston Celtics, trade interest in Cavs players is expected to be high, especially in veteran center Jarrett Allen.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed that the trade interest in Allen this summer will be “significant,” while also indicating that the team is looking to extend rising star Evan Mobley on July 1st. Windhorst mentioned that Mobley is unlikely to consider anything less than a max contract, making it challenging for the Cavaliers to retain both him and Allen due to concerns about their fit together.
Allen missed the entire playoff series against the Celtics due to a rib injury, and there were rumors within the organization that some felt he didn’t do enough to return to the court. If true, Allen’s time in Cleveland could be coming to an end, with plenty of suitors lining up for the talented big man.
While Mobley has shown promise, his offensive development has not progressed as quickly as expected, adding another layer of complexity to the Cavaliers’ decision-making process. With the offseason heating up, all eyes will be on Cleveland as they navigate these critical roster moves.
