Brigade Electronics, a leading provider of safety solutions for vehicles, has announced the enhancement of their 360-degree four camera system with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The system, known as Backeye 360 AI, now employs sophisticated algorithms to identify humans in real-time, alerting drivers to potential risks.
The intelligent camera system offers drivers a complete 360-degree view of their vehicle in a single image, combining footage from four cameras strategically placed around the vehicle. This ‘bird’s-eye view’ provides real-time monitoring on a display inside the cab, giving drivers a comprehensive understanding of their surroundings.
Peter Squire, managing director at Brigade Electronics in the UK, expressed confidence in the new AI technology, stating, “By enhancing our Backeye 360 with AI technology, we can provide even more reassurance to operators that they are being supported with the very safest solutions on the market.”
In addition to real-time human detection, the Backeye 360 AI system boasts high definition imaging with a 1080p HD 360-degree image, multiple viewing options including a 3D view for enhanced clarity, and an automatic calibration process for easy installation.
Customer trials in the UK and Europe have reportedly generated considerable interest, highlighting the potential impact of Brigade’s AI 360 system in improving vehicle safety and preventing accidents. The system is designed to seamlessly integrate with Brigade’s existing range of monitors and digital video recorders, making it adaptable to various vehicles and applications.
