In a tragic turn of events, a passenger has lost their life and 71 others have been injured due to severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore. The incident occurred on flight SQ321, which departed from Heathrow Airport in London and was en route to Singapore when it encountered the turbulent weather.

The Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where the extent of the injuries became apparent. The passenger who tragically lost their life has been identified as a 73-year-old British man, according to Bangkok airport’s general manager.

Most of the injuries sustained by the passengers were due to blows to the head, with 71 individuals being sent for treatment at Bangkok’s Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital. Six of those injured are reported to be in serious condition.

Singapore Airlines has expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased passenger and has stated that their priority is to provide assistance to all passengers and crew on board. They are working closely with local authorities in Thailand to ensure that all necessary medical assistance is provided.

Experts have noted that incidents of this nature often occur when passengers are not wearing their seatbelts and the pilot is unable to provide advanced warning due to the limitations of weather radar. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of following safety protocols while flying to ensure the well-being of all passengers and crew.
