Bulldogs dominate Mountaineers in softball doubleheader, scoring 30 runs

The Hancock Bulldogs softball team dominated the Iron Mountain Mountaineers in a doubleheader on Friday, securing wins of 12-0 and 18-2. In the first game, Brooke Koskela led the offensive charge with a single, a triple, and a two-run home run, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. Sydnie Scholie also had a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, a double, and a run scored.

Pitcher Sadie Biekkola was a force to be reckoned with, striking out 10 batters and allowing just two hits in the shutout victory. She also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. In the second game, the Bulldogs continued their offensive onslaught, scoring seven runs in the second inning and nine in the fourth.

Diem Kilpela earned the win in the pitcher’s circle, striking out seven batters and giving up four hits. Sofie Freeman shined at the plate, hitting a home run, driving in two runs, and scoring three times. Mallory Sporalski also made an impact with two doubles and four RBI.
