East Palestine’s Cale Moraski Makes Impactful Return in Bulldogs’ Win Over Wellsville

In a thrilling Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference matchup, the East Palestine Bulldogs secured a 9-1 victory over the Wellsville Tigers, thanks in large part to the return of junior standout Cale Moraski.

After being sidelined at the start of the season due to a freak accident during a preseason practice, Moraski made a triumphant comeback, showcasing his skills both at the plate and in the field. His presence in the lineup proved to be a game-changer for the Bulldogs, as they notched their second consecutive win since his return.

Head coach Aaron Walker praised Moraski’s impact on the team, stating, “He just ignites the lineup and everybody feeds off of him in that leadoff spot. It is great to have him back.”

Moraski’s stellar performance included two hits, four stolen bases, and three runs scored, demonstrating his versatility and resilience after a challenging recovery period.

Teammate Kyler Bourne also shined at the plate, contributing two RBIs, three runs scored, and four hits, including a crucial triple in the sixth inning that helped secure the Bulldogs’ commanding lead.

On the defensive side, pitcher Phoenix Marvin delivered a solid performance, allowing just one earned run on eight hits with eight strikeouts through six innings of work. Moraski closed out the game with a strong showing, further solidifying East Palestine’s victory.

Despite Wellsville’s efforts, they struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities and fell short in driving in runs. The Tigers also faced challenges with anger issues, as evidenced by an on-field altercation that led to a player’s ejection.

With this impressive win under their belt, East Palestine looks ahead to their upcoming matchup against Leetonia, while Wellsville aims to bounce back against Columbiana in their next game. The Bulldogs’ resurgence, fueled by Moraski’s return, has undoubtedly injected new energy and momentum into the team as they continue their quest for success in the EOAC.
