The Hancock Bulldogs softball team continued their winning ways on Monday evening, taking on the Westwood Patriots in a doubleheader at the Bill Givens Memorial Little League Field. The Bulldogs showcased their strong defensive skills and pitching prowess, coming out on top in both games with scores of 4-1 and 5-3.

Coach Craig Biekkola praised both teams for their solid performances on the field, highlighting the excellent pitching and defensive plays throughout the games. The Bulldogs, with a roster of experienced players, demonstrated their ability to excel in close games and tough situations.

With a record of 22-5 so far this season, the Bulldogs have attributed much of their success to their strong defensive efforts. Limiting mistakes and playing smart defensively has been a key focus for the team as they gear up for the upcoming district games.

In the first game of the doubleheader, pitcher Sadie Biekkola led the Bulldogs to victory with a strong performance on the mound. The offense was sparked by key plays from players like Megan Pelto, Kaelyn Rouleau, and Syndie Scholie, helping the team secure a 4-1 win.

In the second game, pitcher Scholie continued the strong pitching trend for the Bulldogs, supported by a solid defensive effort from the team. The offense came through with timely hits and smart baserunning, leading to a 5-3 victory over the Patriots.

With their eyes set on the upcoming district games, the Bulldogs are focused on maintaining their strong defensive play and continuing to find ways to win. Their next challenge comes against Negaunee, where they have a chance to tie for the WestPAC regular season title in a doubleheader matchup.
