Burlington County Commissioners Celebrate Student Achievement in News Flash

Six outstanding female scholars were celebrated for their achievements, public service, and aspirations to lead during the Burlington County Commissioners and Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council’s annual scholarship reception. The $1,000 scholarships were awarded to Natalie Sherill, Catherine Marino, Kavya Parik, Nazifa Hasna, Katrina Benton, and Allyson Kittel during the reception at the Burlington County Lyceum of History and Natural Sciences.

The scholarships and reception were sponsored by the Burlington County Commissioners, the Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council, Alice Paul Institute, Virtua Health, and Remington & Vernick Engineers. Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson expressed pride in the Women’s Advisory Council for inspiring and supporting the county’s young achievers.

Allyson Kittel, a graduating senior of Northern Burlington County Regional High School, was awarded the inaugural Burlington County Commissioners’ Future Hero Scholarship for her aspiration to become a KC-46 pilot with the U.S. Air Force.

Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel commended all six scholarship recipients for their outstanding achievements in and out of school. The recipients were recognized for their leadership roles, community service, and academic excellence.

The Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council aims to address issues impacting women in the county and enhance the quality of life for women. The scholarship winners, including Natalie Sherrill, Catherine Marino, Kavya Parik, Nazifa Hasna, Katrina Benton, and Allyson Kittel, were praised for their dedication to their studies, community service, and aspirations for the future.
