Burlington County Offers Small Business Resources – News Update

May is Small Business Month and the Burlington County Commissioners are gearing up to support local businesses in a big way. Partnering with the Burlington County Bridge Commission’s Department of Economic Development, they are set to host the Second Annual Burlington County Small Business Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 15.

The event, which will take place from 10 AM to noon at the Burlington County Human Services Building in Westampton, will provide business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with representatives from over a dozen state, county, and local agencies and organizations. Some of the expected participants include the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, stating, “When our small businesses succeed, we all benefit.” The event aims to provide a low-pressure environment for business owners to network and learn about programs and resources that can assist them in growing and prospering.

In addition to the Small Business Resource Fair, the County and Bridge Commission will also host a Business to Business Social Networking Event on June 11, as well as a series of free workshops covering topics such as tax preparation, financing, and marketing.

State Senator Troy Singleton commended the efforts of the Commissioners and Bridge Commission, stating, “The upcoming Small Business Resource Fair and Business to Business Social Networking Event will provide great opportunities for business owners to meet, connect, ask questions and learn more about state and county programs that can help them.” Senator Singleton will also be hosting a Small Business Assistance Workshop on May 31st in partnership with the New Jersey Business Action Center.
