The Primrose Business Forum is making waves in the community of Primrose, with a mission to improve the area for its residents and businesses. Led by Johan van Wyk of Ackermans Pharmacy on Reitfontein Road, the forum has already made a significant impact in less than two years.

Van Wyk shared that the initial focus was on cleaning the streets surrounding their building, but as the objectives became clearer, they realized the broader challenges that needed to be addressed. The forum aims to preserve local businesses and enhance the infrastructure of the area, with ten new members recently joining the cause.

The forum members, including local company owners, have taken on the task of patrolling the streets, picking up trash, mowing grass, and maintaining the cleanliness of the community. They have also engaged with the leaders of the informal settlement to expand their reach and impact.

In addition to their community efforts, Ackermans Pharmacy recently won the Pharmacy of the Year competition for 2023, a prestigious award that Van Wyk believes was made possible by the support of the Primrose community.

Looking ahead, the forum hopes to attract more businesses to join their cause, continue their efforts to clean up and improve the infrastructure of Primrose, and ultimately create a safer and more positive environment for all residents. Their dedication to the community is evident in their ongoing initiatives, such as funding soup kitchens and supporting local sports teams like Burning Stars FC.

The Primrose Business Forum is a shining example of how businesses can come together to make a real difference in their community, and their impact is sure to be felt for years to come.
