Tax authorities in Dong Nai Province have revealed that 101 enterprises are collectively owing more than VND626 billion in taxes and other obligations. The disclosure was made through an official announcement by the Dong Nai Tax Department, highlighting the challenges faced by businesses in production and trading activities. A significant portion of the overdue taxes is linked to entities in the real estate and mineral extraction sectors.

Notable debtors include Tung Lam Alcohol Production Factory Company, Phu Hoi City Company, and DONA Transportation Construction JSC, with arrears exceeding VND110 billion, VND81 billion, and VND40 billion respectively. To address these issues, tax authorities have pledged to implement stringent measures to recover the outstanding taxes, in accordance with tax management laws.

In a separate development, the Rice Production Monitoring and Reporting System (RiceMoRe) has shown positive results in improving rice production reporting and statistics processes. Developed since 2018, RiceMoRe has been implemented in nine localities in the Mekong Delta region and one locality in the Red River Delta, facilitating data storage and processing for greenhouse gas emissions calculations.

The system holds promise for contributing to greenhouse gas inventory efforts in the rice sector and aligns with national initiatives for green growth and emissions reduction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sees RiceMoRe as a precursor to establishing a digital ecosystem for rice production and agriculture.

Overall, these developments in tax recovery efforts and agricultural data management systems demonstrate the ongoing efforts in Dong Nai Province and Vietnam to address financial challenges and enhance agricultural sustainability.
