Business owner receives overwhelming support after fire ravages their establishment

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Lewistown Cabinet Center in Milroy faced a devastating fire last weekend, leaving nearly half of the business in ruins. Despite the efforts of firefighters from 30 area companies, the flames tore through the building, destroying a significant portion of the business.

Doug Kerstetter, the owner of the family business, was left contemplating whether to rebuild or not. As he surveyed the damage, he was approached by 15 employees, all expressing their determination to keep the business running. Their unwavering support and dedication convinced Kerstetter that the only option was to rebuild and reopen.

The fire, which started in the basement before spreading to the finish room, took over four hours to extinguish. Two firefighters were injured but are expected to recover. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire marshal.

Lewistown Cabinet Center, established in 1953 and now owned by the Kerstetter family, has grown into a successful cabinet company known for its quality custom cabinetry. Despite the setback, Kerstetter is determined to restore the business to its former glory.

The response from local first responders and neighboring fire departments was commendable, with over 30 fire trucks responding to the three-alarm fire. The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming, further motivating Kerstetter to rebuild and continue serving their customers.

As the investigation into the fire continues, the community rallies behind the Lewistown Cabinet Center, showing resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
