Business park near M5 in Somerset set to benefit from new £5.3m scheme

A new £5.3 million business development scheme has been approved by Somerset Council, set to bring more jobs to the area. The project will see the construction of three new commercial units at Peninsula 23 Business Park near the M5 in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The site, located on the A38 Bristol Road, currently houses Monmouth Scientific and Somerset Willow. The approved plans, put forward by Roselea Properties Limited and C.M. Limited, will add three more commercial units to the northern end of the site.

The new units will have parking spaces and turning areas for lorries, making them suitable for use as distribution hubs. Construction is expected to begin later this year and will coincide with improvements to the nearby Dunball roundabout, funded by the government’s levelling up fund.

The site is bordered by a cycle route that is part of the Bridgwater local cycling and walking infrastructure plan, connecting the town center to the new gigafactory at the Gravity enterprise zone. The development is seen as a positive step towards attracting more businesses and creating job opportunities in the area.

Somerset Council is currently in the tendering process for the project, with construction anticipated to start in the summer or early autumn. The new commercial units are expected to enhance the business landscape in Bridgwater and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
