Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Concludes Regular Season with Matches Against No. 49 UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego

Cal Poly Men’s Tennis wrapped up their regular season with a mix of highs and lows against Big West Conference rivals UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.

In their final home match against UC Santa Barbara, the Mustangs put up a tough fight but ultimately fell to the Gauchos by a score of 4-1. Despite a strong showing in doubles, with the duo of Weststrate and Smith securing a win, Cal Poly couldn’t maintain the momentum in singles play, leading to a victory for UC Santa Barbara and securing the Big West title for the Gauchos.

However, the Mustangs bounced back in their final regular-season match against UC San Diego, coming out on top with a 4-2 victory. The team showed resilience and determination, with Leather and Berry clinching the crucial doubles point and leading the team to victory in singles play.

With the regular season now behind them, Cal Poly is gearing up for the Big West Conference tournament as the No. 3 seed. They will face off against UC Riverside in the quarterfinals on Friday, April 26, in San Diego.
