California business suffers $25K in damages from twerking vandals

A San Gabriel Valley business, Pink Sponge Home Cleaning service in Glendora, California, is reeling after vandals caused $25,000 in damage to their fleet of 25 Volkswagen Bugs over the weekend. The break-in occurred in the early morning hours of April 20, with surveillance footage capturing at least three teens wreaking havoc in the rooftop parking lot.

The vandals were seen twerking on the vehicles, kicking in headlights, breaking windows, and carving on the hoods of the cars. The teens also sprayed a fire extinguisher and threw products over the side of the building, leaving a giant mess behind.

Jennifer Ahlgrim, a representative of Pink Sponge Cleaning, expressed shock and dismay at the senseless destruction, stating, “I couldn’t understand how someone could do something like this to a company that’s trying to do good. It just doesn’t make sense.”

One of the teens, a 15-year-old from La Verne, has been taken into custody in connection with the break-in. Police are now seeking two teen girls who were also involved in the incident. The company’s insurance claim was denied due to a previous vandalism incident, leaving them to cover the cost of repairs and supplies lost in the attack.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support Pink Sponge Cleaning in recovering from the damage caused by the vandals. The community has rallied around the business, offering assistance in the wake of this senseless act of destruction.
