Calls for a Transparent Investigation into the Death of General Ogolla in Kenya Grow Stronger

The recent tragic death of General Francis Ogolla in a helicopter crash has sparked calls for transparency and thorough investigations from political leaders and the public. Kalonzo Musyoka, a Co-principal of Azimio, has urged the government to publicly disclose the cause of General Ogolla’s death once investigations are completed.

Speaking at General Ogolla’s burial service in Ng’ya, Siaya, Kalonzo emphasized the national importance of revealing the truth behind the accident. General Ogolla, who was appointed Chief of Defence Forces in April 2023, tragically lost his life in the helicopter crash on April 18, 2024, along with nine other officers.

Martha Karua, the leader of Narc Kenya, echoed Kalonzo’s sentiments, calling for a swift and thorough investigation to address security concerns raised by the accident. Siaya Governor James Orengo, Senator Oburu Odinga, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga also joined the call for transparency and accountability in the investigation process.

President William Ruto assured the public that the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will conduct thorough and impartial investigations into the accident. He expressed confidence in the KDF’s commitment to establishing the truth behind General Ogolla’s death.

The nation awaits the results of the investigation, hoping for clarity and closure regarding the tragic loss of General Ogolla and his fellow officers in the helicopter crash.
