As thousands of delegates gather in Ottawa this week for crucial United Nations negotiations on curbing plastic waste, experts are emphasizing the urgent need for action to address the global plastic pollution crisis. In a series of interviews with CBC’s The House, participants highlighted the far-reaching implications of plastic waste, calling for a comprehensive treaty that addresses all aspects of plastic production, use, and disposal.

Graham Forbes, the global plastics project leader at Greenpeace, stressed the importance of the Ottawa meetings as a potential turning point in the fight against plastic pollution.
