Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role as D.J. Tanner on “Full House” and its spinoff “Fuller House,” recently shared a harrowing experience she had while filming a stunt for the show. During an episode of the podcast “How Rude, Tanneritos!” with her former co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, Candace recounted a near-death incident involving a zip lining stunt gone wrong.
The 48-year-old actress explained how she was supposed to zip line across the living room as part of an American Ninja Warrior course for her character. However, during rehearsal, the rig was not set up correctly, and there was no safety stop at the end of the line. When Candace landed on the platform, the heavy metal mechanism slid off the track and came dangerously close to her head, missing her by just an inch.
Candace described the moment as “traumatic” and revealed that the stunt guy responsible was fired immediately. Director Mark Cendrowski also decided to scrap the stunt altogether to ensure the safety of the cast and crew.
Despite the frightening experience, Candace expressed her love for working on “Fuller House,” which concluded in 2020 after five successful seasons. Fans have since speculated about the possibility of another spinoff, but with the passing of original cast member Bob Saget in 2022, the future of the show remains uncertain.
Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the series, hinted that while another project isn’t off the table, it may not be the same without Bob Saget’s character, Danny Tanner. She emphasized that the door is always open for a reunion but acknowledged the challenges of moving forward without the beloved actor.
