Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role in Netflix’s ‘Fuller House’, recently shared a harrowing experience while filming a stunt for the show. The actress, 48, revealed on Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber’s podcast that she “almost died” while performing a zipline stunt that went wrong.

Bure explained that her character, D.J. Tanner, was supposed to ride a zipline diagonally across the set and land on a platform. However, during rehearsal, the rig was not set up correctly, and there was no safety stop on the end of it. As a result, when Bure landed, the mechanism slid off the track and came dangerously close to her head.

The actress recounted how the heavy metal mechanism missed her head by an inch, leaving a big gash on the floor and breaking the stairs. She emphasized that if she had shifted her weight even slightly, it could have been a fatal accident.

Following the incident, the stunt guy was fired, and the director decided to redo the entire set, canceling the dangerous stunt. Bure also mentioned how her co-star, Scott Weinger, witnessed the incident but couldn’t react fast enough to warn others on set.

‘Fuller House’, a reboot of the classic ’80s-’90s comedy Full House, focused on D.J. Tanner, played by Bure, raising three kids with the help of her sister and childhood friend. The show featured cameos from original cast members like John Stamos and Bob Saget.

The incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in performing stunts on television and the importance of safety protocols on set. Fans of the show were relieved to hear that Bure escaped unharmed and that the necessary precautions were taken to prevent future accidents.
