Capital One Venture X Business Reduces Priority Pass Restaurant Benefits

Capital One Venture X Business, a popular small business premium travel rewards card, has made a significant change to its Priority Pass membership benefits. Effective immediately, newly issued cards will no longer offer credits or experiences at Priority Pass’ non-lounge airport locations, including restaurants and spa discounts.

This change comes as the card recently transitioned from being a Mastercard to a Visa. Existing cardmembers who had the card issued as a Mastercard are currently unaffected by this change. However, it remains to be seen if the benefits will eventually be transitioned over to Visa cardholders as well.

This move follows a trend in the industry where popular cards like The Platinum Card from American Express and Chase Sapphire Reserve Card have also lost Priority Pass restaurant credits. While disappointing, this change does not fundamentally alter the value proposition of the Capital One Venture X Business card, which still offers a $300 annual travel credit, 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, and other perks.

Despite the loss of Priority Pass restaurant credits, the card’s benefits still outweigh the $395 annual fee for many users. The Capital One Venture X Business remains a compelling option for small business owners looking for premium travel rewards.

For now, existing cardmembers can continue to enjoy their Priority Pass benefits, but it remains to be seen how long this will last. The industry trend towards cutting restaurant credits from Priority Pass memberships is unfortunate, but Capital One is simply following suit.
