Cardinals Finish Regular Season Strong with Sweep of Conn.

The Wesleyan men’s tennis team ended their regular season on a high note with a dominant 9-0 victory over Connecticut College. The team celebrated seniors Ben Mitchell and Harry Portnoy in their final regular-season match at the John Wood Memorial Courts.

With this win, the Cardinals finished the regular season with a 6-10 overall record and a 5-5 record in the NESCAC conference. They will now enter the NESCAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed, where they will face off against No. 3 Tufts in the quarterfinal matchups.

The match against Connecticut College saw impressive performances from the Wesleyan team. Doubles pairings JT Bilski and Ben Mitchell, Max Lustgarten and Harry Collomb, and Harry Portnoy and Chase Kasday all secured victories to give Wesleyan the early lead.

In singles play, JT Bilski, Brett Keeling, Max Litton, Max Lustgarten, Harry Portnoy, and Ben Mitchell all secured wins to complete the sweep over Connecticut College.

The Cardinals will now turn their focus to the upcoming NESCAC Tournament, which is set to begin on Friday, May 3. The team will spend the week preparing for their quarterfinal matchup against Tufts as they aim to continue their winning momentum and make a strong push in the tournament.
