Persaud expressed her gratitude for being nominated for the award, stating, “It’s truly an honor to be among the many amazing Caribbean women who have made the list of top nominees for the inaugural Caribbean POSH ICON WOMAN Awards.” She emphasized the significance of being recognized by her own community and fellow Caribbean women entrepreneurs.

In addition to her entrepreneurial success, Persaud is also an award-winning Caribbean immigrant journalist, news editor, columnist, and advocate. She has been a vocal advocate for the Caribbean Diaspora, leading initiatives such as the Carib ID movement to ensure Caribbean nationals were accurately represented in the US Census.

The Caribbean Posh Weekend, where the awards ceremony will take place, is a highly anticipated event that brings together Caribbean and Caribbean American women in business. This year’s event, scheduled for June 28-30, 2024, will feature various activities and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The Caribbean Posh Icon Woman Awards will also honor Dr. Yvette Noel-Schure of Schure Media Group as the recipient of the Pioneering ICON award. The event will provide a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, connect with potential customers, and celebrate the achievements of Caribbean women in business.
