Carlos Alcaraz supports Djokovic while Iga Swiatek questions Raducanu’s abilities

Novak Djokovic’s current form has raised questions about his future in tennis, but young star Carlos Alcaraz believes that the Serb is far from finished. Despite Djokovic’s recent struggles to reach tournament finals, Alcaraz insists that the 24-time Grand Slam winner still has what it takes to win more events.

In a recent interview with La Vanguardia, Alcaraz praised Djokovic’s abilities, stating that the Serb has few perceived weaknesses. “Everyone has weak points, Djokovic too although it seems not. The difficult thing is to find them, because they are very small,” Alcaraz said.

Alcaraz also dismissed the notion that Djokovic is vulnerable, pointing out that even though his recent results may not be as dominant as usual, they are still impressive. “He never is. Now he does not have exceptional results, although they are very good, with Grand Slam or Monte Carlo semifinals. The thing is that we are used to seeing him win everything,” Alcaraz added.

Meanwhile, in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, Iga Swiatek faced off against Emma Raducanu in the quarterfinals. Despite Raducanu’s strong start, Swiatek ultimately emerged victorious with a 7-6(2) 6-3 win. Swiatek admitted in a post-match press conference that she had doubts about Raducanu’s ability to maintain her intensity throughout the match. “I knew I was kind of questioning if she’s going to be able to keep the same intensity throughout the whole match,” Swiatek said.

As Djokovic continues to navigate through a challenging season, Alcaraz’s belief in his abilities and Swiatek’s victory over Raducanu serve as reminders that in tennis, anything can happen.
