CORVALLIS — The sound of Cash Trexler’s spurs clinking against the barn floor reverberated through his family’s ranch in Corvallis on a sunny Thursday afternoon. As he prepared his horse, the authenticity of his passion for rodeo was palpable.
Trexler, the son of Kari and Reed Trexler, is a true cowboy at heart. Raised in the western lifestyle, he has been riding horses since before he could walk. His dedication to the sport is evident in his current position as the leader in high school rodeo standings in Montana.
At just recently graduated senior, Trexler has already achieved remarkable success in the rodeo arena. He competes in various events, but his favorite is calf roping. With his horses Caddy and Casholena, both of which he raised himself, he showcases his exceptional horsemanship skills.
“We raised our kids with the western lifestyle,” said Kari Trexler, a former rodeo competitor herself. Alongside her husband Reed, she competed at the collegiate level over two decades ago. Their son Cash follows in their footsteps, excelling in team roping and demonstrating a natural talent for the sport.
Trexler’s journey to the top of the high school rodeo rankings in Montana has been a result of years of hard work and dedication. From his early days on horseback with his mother to his recent success in competitions, he has honed his skills and developed a deep love for the sport.
As he prepares to compete in the Montana High School Rodeo Finals in Kalispell and the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Trexler remains focused on his goals. His ultimate dream is to continue competing in rodeo and pursue a career in equine science and ranch management.
With a full ride scholarship to New Mexico Junior College in hand, Trexler is poised to make a name for himself in the world of rodeo. His passion for the sport and his dedication to his horses set him apart as a true cowboy, born to ride.
