Reading Time: < 1 minute

Casper Ruud continued his scorching form at Roland Garros with a dominant victory over Felipe Meligeni Alves in the first round. The Norwegian, a two-time finalist at the French Open, showcased his prowess on the clay courts with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 win.

Ruud, the seventh seed, has been in exceptional form this season, leading the ATP Tour with 36 wins. He has already clinched titles in Barcelona and Geneva, and is now eyeing his first major title in Paris. The 25-year-old displayed a near-perfect performance under the Court Philippe-Chatrier roof, showcasing his defensive skills and powerful groundstrokes.

Speaking after the match, Ruud expressed his nerves coming into the tournament, given his previous experiences at Roland Garros. However, he was pleased with his performance and the win against Meligeni Alves. The Norwegian made an impressive 89% of his first serves and faced just one break point throughout the match.

Up next for Ruud is a clash against either Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Valentin Vacherot in the second round. With his current form and confidence, Ruud will be a strong contender as he looks to make a deep run in the tournament and potentially claim his first Grand Slam title. Tennis fans can expect more thrilling performances from the red-hot Ruud as he continues his Roland Garros campaign.
