The Muskegon area is buzzing with exceptional talent as spring sports season is in full swing. Athletes from various sports have been putting up impressive performances, and it’s time to recognize their hard work with the MLive Muskegon Athlete of the Week award.

This week, over 30 student-athletes have showcased their skills and achievements, but only one will be crowned the Athlete of the Week. Readers of MLive and the Muskegon Chronicle have until noon on Friday to cast their votes for the most deserving athlete.

Among the standout performers this week are Vitek Benes from Oakridge, who recorded three hits, four runs, and an RBI in a doubleheader sweep, and Pierce Bladzik from Mason County Central, who logged 13 strikeouts and three hits with three RBI in a dominant win.

Other notable candidates include Ezra Carefelle from Mona Shores, Mia Clemence from Fremont, and Abbi Cook from Orchard View, all of whom have delivered outstanding performances in their respective sports.

Readers are encouraged to cast their votes and help decide who will be named the MLive Muskegon Athlete of the Week. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner later this week.
